Dear New-Found-Love,
It was an accident. I never meant
to seriously like you the way I do
now. I never intended to fall in love deeply with you the way I am about to.
We’ve known each other for months now and have become close to each other. And
the more I get to know you, the more I get drawn. Your personality may not awe
all the people around you, but for me, it’s perfectly fine. I like every inch
of it, actually, though there are really some parts that you have to tone down
and augment.
It’s cute how we seem to be
connected through so many ways and common things we share. But just like
repelling magnets, I guess we can never be together the way I want us to. I
can’t own you because someone else does. And I simply can’t barge in and try to
steal you away because it will only cause us pain. I don’t want to lose the
friendship that we have right now. Having an awkward distance between us will
only hurt, so might as well not take the risk.
Funny, isn’t it? I’m talking
directly to you through this letter without you knowing it. I know I can’t keep
you as my girl, so I would rather not admit to your face that I honestly like
you and seriously love you. But if you do love me back, then I’m lucky.
Now, if you have an inkling that it’s
you, just keep silent and don’t bother yourself with it. Don’t even ask me. The
answer will only confuse you. As for me, I will silently love you. That will
keep things in their proper places. I know we can keep each other longer if we
remain friends, so I’ll just cut the love story even before it begins.
I just have one request, though.
Will you let me take care of you?
The Silent Lover
